During Thanksgiving break we got the chance to visit Paul's dad and stepmom in NC and while we were up there we went to a wonderful little Christmas tree farm that had a neat little elf village for the kiddo's.
One of our kiddo's decided to try out being an elf!....an elf dog apparently...

Halloweeneeee!

We had a greaaaaaaaaaaaaaat Halloween!! We went to our friends house for a potluck and trick-or-treating! It was fun fun fun! We were amazed with how fast Pey could run. We really did not know she could run so fast until last night! Pey was a little owl...which was finally decided by me the night before Halloween because our little girl could not come to a decision. She had literally come up with 75-100 different things within the last month, on average of 5 things a day. Here is a list of some:

- Christmas tree with a scary monster mask (i still blame this one on my brother even though he swears he did not provoke her to say this)

Those are just to name a few, and mind you she came up with each one on her own.
Thatcher was going to be a ghost because he likes to walk around with blankets on his head but at the last minute I picked him up a bear costume at Walmart while I was getting fabric for Peyton's owl costume. He would not wear the head piece, but he was still cuteee! Pey would not wear her owl face much either. But then it occurred to me today that they were sunglasses and it would have been hard for her to see while running in the dark...oops!!

Pumpkin Patch

We had a great time picking pumpkins and taking a hayride! Thatcher fell in love with a big pumpkin. He was so upset that he couldn't move it. He ended up picking a larger pumpkin than Pey!

And yes, we are those people who disobey the fine print that says not to put a child in the cart. I'm not proud of it and do not condone it. But luckily he is adult supervised and it is carefully operated by an adult. So don't worry!

She randomly let me put her hair in braids...which lasted all of 1.5 minutes. Look how distraught she is from it...and then how happy!

Thatch-man Turned 1!!

Thatcher turned 1 this July!! (sorry so late posting!) I truly cannot believe he is already 1! But he is so so fun and always smiling and laughing and growling! He keeps me on my toes for sure and is all boy!!

We started off the day with showering him with balloons. We typically put them on the floor of the kids bedroom so when they wake up they see them all. But Thatch is such a light sleeper that we could not do it during the night and had to wait until he woke up in the morning. But he LOVED it! Loves balloons! He was so excited!! Paul made cow and piggy pancakes for breakfast, we went to the pool, which he LOVES the pool, hung out, and had a cookout! One thing we also always do is give the kids a balloon that sings "happy birthday." So Pey picked out a Mickey Mouse balloon for him and he had Mickey serenading him all day (really for a month...they last FOREVER).

I made Thatch a little blue cake, which he wanted nothing to do with. Peyton did the same when she turned one! When everyone was singing happy birthday to him he tried to grab the candle (which he didn't, and I stopped him) but everyone gasped and scared him...soooooooooooo he decided he was done with his birthday!

Peyton's 3rd Birthday

I cannot believe my little girl just turned 3. Time really and truly does fly by quicker than you realize. She looks like a little girl now. It is so sad. She was just a baby. However, she is a FUN little girl!!

We celebrated her 3rd with a party at Chuck E Cheeses! Peyton had the pleasure of going to one of her best friends birthday parties there back in March and I am pretty sure she pretended she was at Chuck E Cheeses every day since. However, it never occurred to her that she could in fact have her Birthday party there too. It was always in her mind as Caleb's Birthday. So it was really fun to tell her about a week before her party that she would be having her Birthday at Chuck E Cheese too!

We were joined with a ton of friends and family and Peyton really had a blast! And for once I remembered to put her Birthday hat on...which she has had since she turned one...I just always forgot about it:)

She had the bluest cupcakes too. If you weren't aware, Peyton's favorite color is blue, and has always been blue. So I did my best to make her some electric blue cupcakes; with white icing I might add, so we didn't have to worry about stains:)

We always cover her room with balloons on her Birthday before she wakes up in the morning. It is a fun surprise. She came in our room saying "mom, there are balloons on the floor. Why are there balloons on the floor?" It was fun! Here she is that evening playing in her balloons. And seriously there were around 40 balloons!

Well I really don't think I have ever posted many pictures of Paul and I on here. And truthfully it is because we never have any taken of us. So here we go. I have one! For Paul's Father's Day gift the kids got him tickets to the David Gray concert at the Fox. And if you were unaware this is Paul's favorite artist. He was like a little kid on Christmas morning! It truly was an AMAZING concert underneath the fake, but beautiful, starry sky. So here we are;)

One thing I'll miss when Pey is older...Lotion mornings!
One thing that Peyton likes to play with is lotion. She gets it out, and instead of putting it all over herself she would rather put it on someone else. So I say yes every time! It is great, I'll be getting ready for church and running a liiiiiiiiiiiitle behind and sure enough my little girl is playing with lotion and it just so happens that I need lotion. So she comes up and rubs it all over my legs. My little time saver!!
Now if she only liked drying hair!:)

Downward Dog!

A month or two ago Thatcher LOVED doing downward dog! I thought it was hilarious! I would look over at him and he would be bending over peering through his legs. So my little game with him was that I would come behind him and do peek-a-boo through his legs while he was in downward dog position. He would giggle and I just love his laugh. Yesterday for Valentine's Day Paul gave me a video Flip camera thingy which allows you to take videos and turn them into pictures too. It is a nifty little contraption however it can be a little time consuming too. Each second has 60 images that you can choose from. Soooooooooooooo Today Peyton decided to make a fabulous drawing. And though it is beautiful, the thing that blew us away was that she drew an "M" and said "look, an M for Mom!" Two Sunday's ago Peyton was an angel in our church Christmas Pageant. She was a perfect little angel during practice however when time came for the pageant, 2 hours later, she had had enough. It was kinda funny though and people told me that she was their favorite part. So I am a little late on posting, but there is a good excuse. I've been busy!!
We had a wonderful Halloween trick-or-treating around our neighborhood. Peyton LOVED it! She couldn't wait! She was a little butterfly and Thatcher was going to be a caterpillar but I didn't have my act together. So he just rolled along in his stroller. Here are some pictures of the evening.

Pumpkin Patch

Last week we visited Washington Farms again to pick pumpkins and this time we brought my parents!! We had a greaaaaaaaaaaaaat time! I asked Peyton many times throughout the week about what size pumpkin she was going to pick out and she continuously said "baby pumpkins." So thinking that she might change her mind when we got there I asked her again. And sure enough she still wanted baby pumpkins. And it turns out that she was very particular about the pumpkins she chose. She decided she wanted four baby pumpkins and then we asked her to pick out a medium pumpkin for Mommy and Daddy.
After the pumpkins my parents took her to do the fun activities that they offer for kids.
It is amazing and a little sad looking back at last years photos (Pumpkin Patch 2009) and realizing how fast she has grown.

Out Comes the Closet

So my house has always been a pretty organized place. I at least know where everything is supposed to be. Especially in closets. In the past two houses we have lived in I have been very blessed with great storage, ie. closets. However, in the house we are currently in, it is anything but. So I had to get creative. Peyton's closet is the most creative. It houses my shoes, dresses, pey's clothes, and a great deal of randomness. Basically I can barely close the door.
So two weeks ago, Pey decides she is going to explore her closet. GREAT!! Luckily she only got into things that were hers. Her Birthday hat, never worn on her Birthday because I always seem to forget to take it out of the closet. A calculator from Mr. Bob. She loves playing with it but has become a little crazy with the spool of paper on the back. Puzzles, drums, beach balls, and more.

So recently we had the whole camera malfunction. Which, in that happening, I learned a valuable lesson...NOT to let your 2 year old play with the camera. So we have been very careful with putting it where a certain little girl could not get to it. So I thought....
So I went to download pictures the other day and noticed a few that I didn't take. Apparently when I was taking a shower the other day Peyton went and got her stool, brought it into our bedroom, put it next to the dresser, climbed on the stool, grabbed the camera, took some pictures, put the camera back, and brought the stool back to her room.
Low and behold...the evidence...

I did not flip this...it came that way!

1st Day of School

Peyton had her first day of preschool last week. She is growing up so fast! She now goes two days a week from 9-12 at Athens First United Methodist Church. She LOVES it! She has a good friend from church in her class and really likes her teacher too. Here are some photos from the day! (and yes...apparently my camera still had Peyton slime on the lens...so the pictures are a little fuzzy.)

So one of Peyton's favorite things are M&M's. We have a mason jar filled with M&M's in Paul's studio and Peyton always goes in there, grabs the jar of M&M's and takes it to one of us holding up her little finger showing "1" and says "please". Once we said "yes", she reaches in and only grabs a blue one...thus being her favorite color.

So the other night I was tucking her into bed and we were saying our prayers and the question I always ask her is "who do you want to thank God for?" And after going through her long list of family and friends and me always asking "who else" I switched it up and said "what else?...What do you thank God for?" and she said M&M's :) It made me smile. Realizing that we should be thankful for even the littlest things in life. So here's to M&M's and my little girl who made me realize that every little thing is a Blessing!

Camera Problems

I finally found the camera! However, I made the mistake of letting my sweet and charming daughter play with it...and well, something got in the lens and the camera kept saying "lens error." Which in Canon terms means that it is broken. So after calling Canon they told me that I would have to send it in for repair...which equals $130. Which I refused to pay. So they told me I could send it back and purchase a refurbished one. Which equals $120. In which I politely declined. It was a simple problem, something was trapped in the lens which was causing it not to close properly. And I was not about to pay all that money for someone to spend 5 minutes and have the problem fixed. So at that point, with nothing to lose, I decided I would take a screwdriver to it and fix it myself. However, growing up with my father I have learned a few tricks. So before I threatened it with the screwdriver I decided to give the camera CPR and within seconds the lens closed! TAKE THAT CANON! I WON!!

So I apologize for the delay of pictures. Our camera is working just fine now! So here are some pictures from the past 2 weeks!

It's a BOY!!

Thatcher Paul Reeves was born on Monday, July 26th at 12:16pm (3 weeks early). Weighing 6lbs, 7oz and was 20 inches long. He is very laid back and doing greaaaaaaaaaaaaat!!

Happy Birthday

Well I cannot believe it, but my baby just turned 2 this week. I cannot believe how big she is. She truly is a little girl now. I absolutely love every minute I spend with her...Even the bad minutes I grow to love. I am very Blessed and Grateful to have her as my little girl.
Well we celebrated her second birthday in style. We threw P an Elmo Birthday Party!! It was her BIG day and we did everything possible to make it special for her. We blew up 40 red and blue balloons and had them covering her bedroom floor so when she woke up she started the day off with a huge smile! She kinda started the day off a little earlier than usual....6:39 to be exact. Yes, to some that is not that early, but for me who loooooooooves to sleep, it's early. Peyton will usually sleep until around 8:30 which means I usually sleep until 8:30...or really if Paul is awake...I sleep until 9:):) But regardless, she loved the balloons! She could not get enough of these balloons. She made Paul and I walk around the house, each carrying two blue balloons (her favorite color). And we were not allowed to sit down, because sitting down would mean we were not playing. So we played with balloons. In addition to the red and blue balloons, Peyton got a HUGE Elmo balloon that sung "Happy Birthday" when you tapped it. She had been asking me for it for the past month every time we went to the grocery store, and I promised it to her for her Birthday. SHE LOVED IT!!
After we hung out around the house for a while we headed out for breakfast at Dunkin Donuts. She loves the little munchkins that she gets at church on Sunday mornings, so we treated her to munchkins. Home run again! She loved them!
After breakfast we headed to Sandy Creek Park here in Athens. It is an amazing park that has a lake and beach as well as numerous playgrounds. So we played at the beach, in the water, and on the playground. We unfortunately did not plan on playing on the playground, so P and Daddy are in their bathing suits:)
After a fun time at the park we headed home for lunch and a nap followed by my Mom and Brother coming up to celebrate the rest of the day with P. She woke up to them being there and watched a little World Cup with Uncle Colin and Lisee. Then we had an Elmo cake (my first real try at decorating a cake...It was a success), opened presents, and played with all the new toys.
All in all, Peyton had a greaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat day!! My little "big girl"!!

Strawberries

So last week we went and picked strawberries at Washington Farms. It was a beautiful day and we had a great time! We even got to see all the animals again! Pey loved feeding the goats grass and flowers:) And she loved eating the strawberries too! She had strawberry juice dripping everywhere. She was a big help carrying the bucket and taste testing some of the strawberries that were in the bucket. Mainly taking one bite and putting it back in the bucket, then trying another stawaberry and doing the same. It was kinda funny!

So we had a great week with Michelle and Audrey! It was filled with a lot of fun activities!
We went to the zoo, toured a fire engine, went to a singing story time, went to gymnastics, went to the park/playground almost every day, ate a lot, and played a lot. The girls had a blast! I had a blast most of the time, but P was giving me a preview of what the terrible 2's might look like. But as the week went on things got better! We had a great time!

Peyton's First Plane Ride!

Well for my birthday, my wonderful husband surprised me with a plane ticket to go see my best friend Michelle in Kansas! Michelle has a daughter that is 11 days older than Peyton named Audrey! So it was a treat for both of us!

I'm not going to lie, I was a little nervous about flying with her for the first time...by myself...and have I mentioned I'm 6 months pregnant. But if we were ever going to go out there to visit, this was the time. Peyton was free because she was under two (only 2 months left to where we did not have to pay for her) and I could only fly for a couple more weeks before the Doctor put the nix on that. So it was perfect timing.

Well since Michelle has flown with Audrey so many times she helped Paul figure out which times were best to fly with the little ones and what days were best. So we were scheduled to fly out there at 9am Saturday morning. But little did we know what would happen...

So we spent the night at my parents house the night before, since it was closer to the airport than Athens and we would not have to wake up so early...but I still had to wake up at 5:30 and woke Peyton up at 6 and we were out the door. Checked bags, made it through security, and was sitting at the gate at 7:40am for our 9am flight. Perfect...so we thought...until a lovely woman came on the intercom above telling us that our flight had been canceled due to weather. So I kindly went up to the desk and asked when the next flight was...4PM.....4PM!!! WHAT?? Ok so now I have a toddler, in the airport at 8am and we cannot get on a plane until 4pm...Great...So I called my parents...who had just made it back to Marietta, and told them the news. So they happily turned around, headed back to the airport and picked us up...I cannot tell you how wonderful my parents are. They are truly the BEST EVER!!

We headed back to Marietta and waited, and waited, and waited. Luckily we had been checking the flights all day and my 4pm flight got pushed back to almost 6pm...so we waited some more...and headed back to the airport for round 2.

Our flight was 2 hours long and Peyton was great for about half of it. Mind you, she had woken up early, had only a 45min nap and is almost 2. Everything in my bag of tricks that I had packed for her didn't completely work after a long day and that late in the day. Sooooo it could have been better, could have been worse. We arrived in Kansas City around 8pm, ate dinner and drove for 1 1/2 hours to Michelle's house...It was a long day. But I was glad to be there!!

Well I have to apologize for it taking me a month to post another blog. But luckily I can say that I have not been a slacker, we have just been busy.
On Easter Sunday after church we left and headed down to Savannah for the evening on our week long trip to visit family. We had a wonderful time visiting and Peyton got in another Easter egg hunt...number 4 to be exact! And she loved it! She has now become quite to little egg hunter and has figured out that there is candy in each one. So after she found each one, she stopped, opened the egg, and ate the candy. Luckily, there was only 1 M&M in each egg...so it wasn't too bad!! But needless to say, she LOVED it!
The day after Easter we hopped in the car and drove to St. Augustine, FL to visit with Paul's dad and Deborah. It was a wonderful trip and we were able to go to the beach every day. The water was a little too cold for me and Peyton, so we mainly played in the sand. Except for Paul...He went surfing! He said it wasn't too bad once you were in...but I left that up to him!
A couple days later we drove back to Savannah and stayed the night and then headed back home. It was a great trip being able to see everyone but we were glad to be done driving!

Easter Egg Hunt's

The past week has been filled with a lot of Easter fun! On Saturday our neighborhood had an Easter Egg Hunt, Peyton's FIRST one EVER!! And we were so blessed to have my parents in town to join in on the fun. Peyton was a little timid about the whole thing. She picked up one egg and said "All done"... and her competitive Mommy said "no, we've got to get some more!!" (as I saw all the other kids racing at the eggs). So Peyton picked up two more and by the time we put the third one in the basket, the eggs were gone. ALL OF THEM! Those kids are FAST!

Then on Wednesday, one of our friend's mother was putting on an Easter Egg Hunt at their church. So we went. This time Peyton was totally into it! She was grabbing things left and right. She filled up her entire Easter basket. Her basket was so full she could hardly carry it and when the candy kept dropping out poor thing started crying because she was loosing some. It was really cute. But we have SO MUCH CANDY now!

And on another note...I wanted to show off the BEAUTIFUL Easter Basket my mom made last year for Peyton. My brother and I had ones just like it growing up (just different colors). I love it! It is even lined with pretty pink gingham fabric on the inside! It is truly too nice for Peyton to use for her Easter Egg Hunt's, so we had a "fill-in" basket for those!

So yesterday Paul and I went and had our BIG ultrasound for Baby Reeves and baby is doing greaaaaaaaaaaaat! Sooooooooo sorry if I have missed telling anyone...I kinda forget who I have told and who I haven't...but we are almost 19 weeks along and due August 16th!! And we didn't find out what we are having, so baby is just called Baby!! So here is Baby...

Not Much Has Changed!

So today was sooooooooo pretty out that we decided to play outside for a couple of hours. And since I knew I hadn't taken any pictures recently...I brought my camera. Low and behold...when I sat down to review the pictures from today...I was having deja vu! I came to the realization that not much has changed!! The first pictures were of Peyton when she was 12 months old...Making a mess, playing in the dirt, and loving the water faucet. And the other pictures are from today at 20 months...Making a mess, playing in the dirt, and wanting to play in the water! Enjoy!!

SNOW!!

This was Peyton's FIRST experience with snow!! And she LOVED it! We went out yesterday evening while it was snowing, and at first she was a little timid. But soon enough she warmed up to it and absolutely loved it. We went out for almost 2 hours this morning and even took a wagon ride around the neighborhood. Don't worry...she was properly dressed for our 2 hour outing in:
-2 pairs of pants
-1 thermal shirt
-1 fleece pullover
-1 pair of socks
-1 heavy jacket
- mittens
- hat
- shoes
- and don't forget the bow!!

I would not have thought she could move with all the layers...but she could...but not when she fell down:)

Christmas..."Better late than never"

I know I am a littttttttttttttttttttle behind...but I wanted to share a little bit of our Christmas...As my parents always say..."Better late than never."

We had a wonderful but very busy Christmas! And I believe Peyton now has more toys than Toys R' Us now! She received so many wonderful gifts!! We (or shall I say Peyton) decided to stagger Christmas a bit. She saw all of the gifts under the tree and started unwrapping them prior to Christmas...so we decided to let her open 1 gift a day. And in the process...she accidently opened one of Daddy's too...Which actually worked out to her advantage because it was a gift from Peyton to Daddy...It was "The Tickle Monster"! Which she loved! It is a cute book that comes with blue mittens. So Daddy turns into the Tickle Monster! But Peyton enjoyed wearing them too!( Pictures below)

Busy Bee

My have we had a busy, but very exciting, week!!
We kicked off last weekend with my parents coming in town!! It was my Daddy's Birthday and we had a blast!! We grilled out, had cake, and played with a NEW HELICOPTER...All the men in my family love flying objects...especially if they have a remote control! Which definitely includes a friendly competition where they have created some sort of obstacle in which they have to accomplish it without hitting objects, walls, etc, or getting caught in air currents, in addition to beating each others time. It is in fact, a site to see! They have used blimps in the past...large, slow, and hard to maneuver. This time, a helicopter. Which by the way is not fun to untangle from your hair if in fact someone looses control of the helicopter and it drops on your head while the numerous blades are still spinning...But this pilot will remain nameless because it was his birthday. :) (sorry, no pics of the helicopter)
In addition to my parents being in town, Peyton had a big Sunday! She was dedicated to the church. It was a fast, but a very meaningful event!! (pictures below)

And today, Mimi came in town!! Mimi is Peyton's favorite babysitter. She had watched Peyton at least once a week since Peyton was 8 weeks old until we moved to Athens. She truly has become part of our family and is like another grandmother to Peyton! We LOVE our Mimi!! Mimi also brought Peyton a couple Christmas presents!:) She received a wonderful talking tea set and teddy bear that sings "Jesus Loves Me," and from Mr. Bob (Mimi's husband) a CALCULATOR!! Peyton LOVES Mr. Bob!! She would go sit with Mr. Bob in his office an play on his calculator and make VERY LONG receipts. And so, from Mr. Bob..a Calculator!! :)

Thanksgiving

What a wonderful word...Thanksgiving! We are very Thankful for MANY MANY things... We are truly Blessed!

We had such a wonderful Thanksgiving. We started out with Pre-Thanksgiving at my parents house in Kennesaw. It was a wonderful time with friends and family and my mothers wonderful sweet potato casserole! As Peyton would say "Num Num"! It is truly my FAVORITE thing for Thanksgiving. Then for actual Thanksgiving we headed up to Cashiers, NC to spend Thanksgiving with Paul's Dad and Stepmom. We had a wonderful time just hanging out! Deborah made an AMAZING Thanksgiving meal and we all enjoyed it! Peyton however was a little squirrely so after a couple of bites, she went down for a nap. She was...let's say...having issues. Who knows what got into her. Could have been the car ride. Could have been that she was a little sickly but she was giving me a run for my money! We did however have a wonderful time and visit with them!! The only thing that I would have changed was our choice of car. We brought the Accord... which would have been a great choice at any other time of year, but this was the end of November. One thing that North Carolina offers, is great Christmas trees. Christmas tree farms where you can go and pick yours out, cut it down, and bring it home. I really wanted one but as we did the math...5ft roof...9ft tree = Miserable car ride home. However, we went to take a look anyway. We went to Tom Sawyer's Tree Farm, which Tom and his family were friends of George and Deborah. They had a wonderful Elf village for children where they could dress up as elves and wonder around to each little house and do little activities. We peeked in one and there was an Elf having story time. So Paul, George, Peyton and I joined story time. It was actually very fun! I felt a little big sitting inside a small house in child size chairs, but Peyton enjoyed it. :) We had a good time and learned a lesson for next time...Bring the 4-runner!
However, as luck would have it...on the way home, about 20 minutes outside of Athens, we saw signs for a tree farm. So on Saturday we piled in the 4-runner and followed the signs to 7 G's Farm. It is a wonderful tree farm that grows Leyland Cypress trees. It was great! It was a little overwhelming though with so many PERFECT trees to choose from. However, after about an hour we found our tree, had the man come chop it down, brought it home, and on Sunday decorated it. It is a little over 10ft...BIG...But perfect! See pictures below:)

Halloweeneeeeeee

What can I say...I LOVE HALLOWEEN!! We had the best Halloween this year. Peyton was a Fairy Princess...ALL DAY! She wore here little costume from the moment she got out of her Jammie's in the morning to the moment she had to get back in them for bed. She loved it!

We joined our friends, the Harwell's for Trick-or-Treating, and they had a little fairy as well. Their three year old little girl, Molly, was Tinkerbell. The girls had a blast being toted around in their little red wagon and going door to door. Molly would say "Happy Halloween" and I taught Peyton to say "BOO"....but it sounded more like "Baah"...

We had a great day and the only down side is that I now have glitter ALL OVER THE ENTIRE HOUSE from Peyton's costume. But besides that, it was great!

P's Adventures in St. Simons

Well this past weekend we had the privilege to go to St. Simons Island for a youth retreat for Clermont FL, UMC. Paul lead music for the trip and Pey and I were along for the ride. We had a great time. We were able to visit with Paul's parents and brother in Savannah Friday night and then the weekend was action packed with lots of eating, fun at the beach, and Peyton's FIRST time eating S'mores! Here are some pictures from the trip. ..And yes Peyton was in the ocean in OCTOBER!...Not my choice...but she was VERY persistent and she LOVED it. As you can see, I am not in the water. It was too cold. But luckily she only put her feet in.

Pumpkin Patch

Last Friday we had the pleasure of visiting Washington Farms. It is a great farm about ten minutes from our house that has a pumpkin patch as well as a corn maze and other activities. I had always gone there for the corn maze while I was at UGA and never realized that there was also a pumpkin patch and so many other activities to do. They had a petting zoo, corn box (like a sand box just with corn), cow train, hayrides, pig races, playground, etc. Peyton had a BLAST! Here are some pictures from the eventful day...

Well, after many weeks of pondering about this, I have decided to start a blog. Mainly so my much loved family and friends can get a small snapshot into our lives...or shall I say Peyton's life.

You may be wondering why "Losing Buttons"? Well I can explain... I'm sure many of you have a pile of buttons, like I do, from clothes that were given as the 'just in case' buttons. If one fell off you had an extra to sew back on. Well luckily I have never had to do that. Thus leaving me a pile of buttons. Well I have always kept them in this old chapstick tin that I have had in my closet since high school. Well when we moved last month my closet downsized and this left me to find a new home for my buttons. The logical person would have placed them in the box beside her sewing machine. Well, I just never got around to that. So I placed them in my lower bathroom drawer. A drawer where my beautiful and curious daughter would one day find and fall in love with the colorful tin of buttons. She loves to shake the tin and hear all the buttons clink and clank against the sides and she especially LOVES taking the buttons out. She plays with the buttons like she is playing in a sand box. She runs them through her hands dropping one by one, tosses them behind her like she is a kitten tossing kitty litter, she was even making snow angels in them earlier today and not to mention that she takes handfuls across the room and places them in her play stroller and then strolls them around the house. SHE LOVES THOSE BUTTONS! (pictures below)

I kind of cringe every time I see her with the buttons because they go everywhere. So I counted my buttons earlier today just because I was curious....66. 66 buttons in my tin.

Well as Peyton continued to play with them I looked at her...(which might I add I ALWAYS SUPERVISE her when she is playing with the buttons, and she NEVER puts anything in her mouth) well she had two in her mouth. She spit them out in my hand, and just to be on the safe side, I recounted.......64. 64!

Well they could have been lost in the 3 minutes she was running around the living room with them, making snow angels, etc. Or she could have swallowed 2. But I had my wonderful husband check her diapers last night since I was out...and NO buttons.

...down to 64.
